MERKUR

Autonomous solar lighting meets cutting-edge design

Description

MERKUR is a solar-powered LED streetlight with a unique square design and vertically integrated solar panels, perfect for areas without reliable electricity. Using renewable energy, it delivers high performance even in harsh conditions, providing sustainable and cost-effective lighting solutions. Its elegant design blends seamlessly into any environment, reducing wind resistance and making it ideal for high wind areas. Unlike traditional solar lights, MERKUR's subtle integration of solar components makes it almost undetectable as a solar-powered luminaire, setting a new standard in both functionality and aesthetics.

An architect-friendly solution

MERKUR's sleek design complements a variety of architectural styles and enhances the aesthetic appeal of any project. It helps architects achieve both aesthetic and functional goals, while meeting stringent regulations and client demands for energy efficiency. MERKUR meets key BREEAM requirements by utilising renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions and promoting energy efficiency, ensuring compliance with international green building standards and boosting environmental credentials.

  • High efficiency solar system
  • Monocrystalline panels with over 22% efficiency and vertical design prevent snow and dust accumulation, ensuring uninterrupted performance.

  • Brilliant design
  • Seamlessly integrated vertical panels make MERKUR aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive as a solar luminaire. This design also reduces wind resistance, making it suitable for high wind areas.

  • Underground battery for long service life and security
  • IPX8-rated LiFePO4 underground battery ensures longer lifespan, improved efficiency and protection against theft and extreme temperatures.

  • Saving energy with smart sensing
  • Optional built-in motion sensors and customisable dimming profiles save energy and extend autonomy to up to 5 days without recharging.

Reliable lighting in challenging conditions

MERKUR's vertical solar panels and underground batteries ensure continuous operation even in harsh winter conditions. The high-efficiency solar panels operate on indirect sunlight, ensuring that the luminaires remain functional on cloudy or snowy days, providing reliable and sustainable lighting. This robust design ensures that MERKUR provides consistent lighting in the most demanding environments.

Versatile range for a variety of applications

MERKUR is available in a wide range of models (150, 300, 450 and 600) with DUO versions featuring two luminaires. Different heights cover applications from residential streets and secondary roads to cycle paths, footpaths and car parks, providing tailored solutions for different needs. This flexibility ensures that MERKUR can meet the specific requirements of any project, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of outdoor lighting applications.

Installation and Maintenance

Effortless installation

MERKUR is designed for easy installation with three main components: pole, luminaire and battery. Toolless, coded connectors simplify the installation.

Pipe foundation mounting

MERKUR can be installed using a pipe foundation, where a pipe is embedded in the ground at the base of the column. This method provides a secure and stable base, ideal for areas with soft ground or where a deep foundation is required to withstand wind loads and ensure long-term stability.

Anchor base mounting

Anchor base installation involves a base plate being bolted to a concrete foundation. This method is suitable for sites with existing concrete surfaces or where concrete foundations can be easily constructed. It provides a robust and durable installation, making it ideal for urban environments and high traffic areas.

Ground screw foundation

The ground screw foundation uses a large helical anchor at the bottom of the column, which is driven directly into the ground. This method is fast and efficient, requires no concrete and is ideal for areas with difficult ground conditions. It provides a stable and secure foundation while minimising environmental impact and installation time.
